The usual place for page numbers is in headers and footers (even when they are in the side margins). That is because headers and footers are. I can’t ever see my headers when I am writing papers in Word Online. as margins or page breaks, cover pages, or headers and footers. It’s supposedly updated to the latest version, it’s been working just fine until now, nothing else seems to be missing. I just don’t know what.

In the Show Window Elements section, check White space between pages in Print Layout View. OK out. I’m using Word on my Windows 10 machine and have the same problem. The footer is visible in the print preview, but the only way to.

To get from where you are now to where you want to be, copy everything that you now have in the header to the clipboard and then uncheck the Different First Page box and then paste from the clipboard into the empty Header pane that will have appeared. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. After finally getting a header to have the text and page number just as required, it turned out that no following pages included that header. Please help.

Cancel Submit. Stefan Blom MVP. In reply to DonnaM27’s post on April 6, You are looking at the wrong Design tab. Also, the Touch Mode option in the Office apps doesn’t disable touch. All that does is make the ribbon buttons a little large and add more space to optimize them for touch.

Yes thanks Beth, I was aware of that. I’ve already done a lot of little tricks with everything I could find, I just dont always remember to type everything I’ve done over the past 8 months dealing with it.

Doesnt matter, nothing that I do works or lasts for long. I had to disable Touch Mode in Outlook because it was making everything huge, since I’m sure with a touch screen computer Microsoft assumes you’re actually going to use it too and would need to make everything bigger in order for your finger to touch on it. So day before I showed you pics of my computer looking normal and today, even with everything disabled, I’m back to thing being large acting like I want to use the touchscreen. Look at my scroll bar on the side of my browser and the scroll bar while I’m trying to type this message Shouldn’t be that wide.

I dont understand why my settings dont stay and appear to always reset on me. I wanted to post 2 pictures of the sizing problems I’m having since I knew it wouldnt take long for them to happen again. To note, I have dual 24″ wide screen monitors. In these pictures I’m showing you, they take up my entire screen! Not normal. Again takes up the entire screen it opens so large due to the touch screen issue. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.
